BENEFITING: Project Night Night
EVENT DATE: Mar 20, 2016
Many of you only know me from afar. Your view of me varies by the origin of our meeting. Most of you view me as having a tough personality. There are a few of you that know I have a very soft heart. And and even smaller group that know I cry while watching the news or that I would adopt any child in need if I had the financial ability.
My early childhood was very chaotic. During those years I was lucky enough to have people in my life that were able to do small but generous gestures like buying me a new book, taking me out for ice cream, or letting me spend the night. It may seem very insignificant to you but to a small child, living in chaos, it means the world to them.
As an adult I have been forturante enough to exprience the joy that comes donating to a charity for children. I've recently stumbled on a charity, Project Night Night, that I would like to support. Every child that leaves the shelter takes home a canvas tote containing: an age appropriate book, a stuffed animal, and a blanket.
I am commiting to the "Run this Town" challenge. I will run a 5k at 7:30. Then I will queue up and run the Oakland 1/2 Marathon at 9:00. Please open up your hearts and help this charity bring comfort to children.
