One way to see the best of NYC is wait until out of town guests come. Another is to run it. I prefer the first way, it's easy and fun. But always wanted the take on the challenge of the second. Thanks to Jericho Project I'll get that chance and will run the 2017 NYC Marathon, 26.2 Miles. 5 Bridges. Thousands of steps. Three things I know. It won't be easy, some moments may not be fun, and I can't do it alone. Please help me achieve my goal and donate to Jericho Project, a worthy cause.
We are all fortunate to have a home, and some, possibly a country home. As a New Yorker, born and raised in the Bronx, I have seen changes throughout this city. Over the years, I have seen improvements in areas that were abandoned and now are developed housing for those in need. Jericho Project is an organization providing housing for the vulnerable, the homeless, veterans, addicts. They have been around for years. It is an honor to represent this organization in the New York City Marathon. Not only am I fulfilling one of my goals off my bucket list but I'm also giving back and helping New Yorkers, my city, my town.
Jericho Project's goal is to provide a permanent solution to homelessness in New York City. They help thousands of clients secure affordable housing, sustainable employment, and mental and physical healthcare to address the root causes of their homelessness. They have also launched programs for particularly vulnerable populations, including veterans, families, and young adults ages 18-25 (LGBTQ friendly). Their services are much more cost-effective than temporary homeless shelters, and have a 95% success rate in ending homelessness for their clients. Thank you for supporting us!
