BENEFITING: CHESAPEAKE CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK
EVENT: CCAN Polar Plunge 2017
EVENT DATE: Jan 28, 2017
This January 28rd (for the fourth year in a row) I’ll be taking the annual Polar Bear Plunge in the freezing waters of the Potomac to support action combatting climate change. Last year Ayli (10) joined me in this noble (and slightly insane) endeavor. This year I’m happy to say that Kieran (8) will be joining me as well.
I’m hoping that you can support the three of us in this “Keep Winter Cold” initiative from the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN). As we enter the Trump era, the work of groups like CCAN are more important than ever - without them "banging on the door" of legislators, climate action will never receive the attention it desperately needs. Ayli, Kieran and I are part of the “Grumpy Bears” team - if you’d like to make a donation to CCAN in our name, please visit our fundraising page: https://www.crowdrise.com/jessebuff-ccanpolarplunge2017/fundraiser/seanwhittaker
Any amount (tax deductible) will do - suggestions are $20, $35, $50 or $100 (the latter buys you an actual polar bear). And if you’d like to come out and see this madness in action (January 28, National Harbor, 10 am) a contribution will buy you a front row seat.
