Jess' Guatemala Mission Trip!

I'm going back! Help me help others. For one week in January 2015 with members of the Moline Christian Reformed Church, I'll be digging, hammering, drilling & constructing windows, doors & walls to build structurally sound, lockable & well ventilated houses for families who live in unsafe shacks, if that. We make friends with the kids in the village- blowing bubbles, playing games, giving piggy back rides, telling jokes, coloring, fixing boo boos, and holding their hands as they look up to you like a big brother or sister. For me, that was the hardest thing to walk away from when I had to leave. Those kids are forever in my heart.
We will visit an orphanage where young children and babies are cared for and looking for "aunts and uncles" to love them, share hugs, smiles and laughs. Two years ago we built a sidewalk at the orphanage to allow for the disabled children to roll back and forth between play structures with the other kids.
We will visit another village and distribute food, clothing, toiletries, toys, Bibles, etc. These families are so grateful and are in such need of our time, strength & love. We even shared gospel music with each other as two diverse groups became one faithful community. Two languages, one God.
Please help me get there. The $940 is the total cost of the trip: airfare, lodging at the mission house & food for a week. We buy groceries there to make breakfasts & dinners for 40 people and we bag lunches for ourselves every day. All funds raised over $940 will be used to purchase healthy granola bars & snacks, small toys, coloring books, crayons, bubbles, chewing gum, Chapstick, supplies to make friendship bracelets, Bibles, toiletries, and whatever else I can fit in my suitcase to share.
Thank you for your love, encouragement and support. It's going to a great cause. :)
