Hi everyone! On June 4, I plan on running a 5k called the Superhero Heart Run by the Heart Heroes organization, which raises awareness of congenital heart defects. Congenital heart defects are relatively rare, affecting less than 200,000 children in the U.S. every year! However, it's one of the most common types of birth defects. I was born with Atrial Septal Defect, and luckily only had one successful surgery at age 5. During recovery, each bandage that fell off my scar was a small personal victory! Others aren't as lucky, having to endure countless surgeries throughout their life. If you'd like to donate, every little bit counts. Thanks for taking the time to visit this page and consider the cause!
