On September 9, 2017, I will be participating in the HERA Climb4Life event in Boston to raise money for the HERA Ovarian Cancer Foundation. It has been ten years since I first partnered with the HERA foundation, and I am very excited to be back on the wall for them!
HERA, through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, funds and inspires scientific researchers who focus on solving the ovarian cancer problem. At the heart of HERA is the underlying premise that women need to have the knowledge and the confidence to fully understand and advocate for the direction of their health care.
Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent killer” because the early symptoms are subtle and difficult to diagnose. If caught early enough, many women survive, but without an early detection test and awareness of the symptoms, One in 75 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer in their lifetime. This means the odds are that someone in your life will be affected by this disease.
Proceeds support HERA's mission to raise awareness of ovarian cancer symptoms and funding for research. Any donation, however small, is greatly appreciated.
