I hope this finds you well!  I have been given the opportunity to travel to Haiti to do mission work this November and wanted to share that opportunity with you!

This November (22nd-30th) I will travel to the town of Montrouis with a community feeding program, Feeding Hope, to distribute necessities throughout the community. Also, we will help with several schools, after school programs, churches, and orphanages in the area. From making repairs, to helping out with activities for the kids, lending a helping hand during a building project, to spreading the love throughout this wonderful community, our opportunities to help will be endless!

Our goal of this trip is to provide children with basic necessities and to serve those in need in any way we can.  I have been given the opportunity for a first-hand experience of changing the world, one child at a time!

Haiti is located 70 miles east of Cuba and about 550 miles from Miami, Florida.  It is about the size of Maryland, and has the population of about 9 million.  Majority of Haitians live in the Port-Au-Prince area (where the airport is located). PaP is the capital of Haiti and is the center of the government and much of the employment for the entire country exists here.  Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere.  The life expectancy is 59 years old, while unemployment is around 80%.  Only approximately 40% of school aged children attend school, 850,000 out of 3,100,000.  Leaving illiteracy at 75%! Only 40% of the population has access to safe drinking water and malnutrition is at a high of 75%.  These are a few of the reasons why Haiti needs our help.

So I am writing this to ask you and your family to partner with me.  First and foremost, this trip would not be possible without your prayers.  The team & I would appreciate all and any prayers you send up for us.  I would also ask that you pray about supporting me financially.  I have to raise $2225 to go on this trip and it is all due on November 1st. My church family & friends has generously come together to raise $500 for my mission trip and I am willing to match that.  But as a full time college kid I cannot afford to pay any more out of pocket.

It seems like a lot of money but I know God will provide because he has put a flame in my heart to do His work and spread His love.  It is by God’s grace that I have been given this opportunity and I could not be any more excited!  I hope that you will join in praying for this amazing team and their wonderful work.

"You are the light of the world. A city set on top of a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

Thank you so much,
