Jessica is a mom, a student, and a friend. She’s 27 years old and has three children: Malichi, Ethan, and Destiny. I have had the privilege of knowing and mentoring Jessica for the past year and a half.
Recently, Jessica has made some great life strides. She has leveled up in her GED classes and is one step closer to achieving that tremendous goal. While Jessica still has challenges to overcome, I am so proud of the progress she’s made. If there’s one word I would use to describe her outlook at this moment, it would be hopeful.
Over the past year, the condition of Jessica’s mouth has fast deteriorated due to years of neglect. I think it finally hit home for me during mentoring sessions recently when she wasn’t able to eat most of her dinner. We have found a local dentist who will perform the procedures Jessica needs for a significant discount. The journey before her mouth is functional and pain-free will be a long one, but now there is one. The barrier is that dental is not covered by Medicaid, and there are little to no alternative options that will fund this vital care plan for her.
So, this is what we are asking for. Please give what you can. Any amount is meaningful and will go straight to Jessica’s dental expenses. Please show your support of Jessica by helping us reach $1700 for her dental care. Thank you.
