BENEFITING: DENVER GRACE AND LIFE
They are doing this via the Mauricio Saravia Academy (an arts, sports and technology after-school program for kids ages 5 – 12), Para Ti Mujer (a program to resource and train Latina single moms and battered women), The Peace Treaty Plan (a food box ministry to our surrounding community), and AWANA (a children’s Bible Club brought to us by Mountain View Community). Plans to launch a youth outreach program are underway.
They believe in indigenous leadership. When society offers nothing but closed doors they try to throw open their doors with the opportunity to love and be loved of God and serve his Church in such a way that stimulates personal transformation. A measure of this ministry’s success is evidenced by people who live in the neighborhood, have found Christ through their ministry and then are trained and given the chance to be the program volunteers and leaders. This is an essential part of what makes this ministry unique from many other urban or compassion ministry centers.
