The 2017 Yukon Arctic Ultra is a 485km non-stop & self-supported race accross the icy Yukon where temperatures can drop below -40 degrees C at night. I'll have 192 hours (8 days) to reach the finish line while hauling my gear, tent & food on a pulk. Fatigue, sleep deprivation & freezing temperatures will slow me; my determination & support of friends, family & strangers will keep me moving forward. I am using this experience for two things - to prepare myself for an expedition to the South Pole and to raise funds for a cause that is important to me, the conservation of Patagonia.
Conservacion Patagonica works to create national parks in Patagonia that save and restore wildlands and wildlife, inspire care for the natural world, and generate healthy economic opportunities for local communities.
