BENEFITING: Hillel of San Diego
What if free genetic screening was available to UC San Diego students, increasing the awareness and lowering the occurrence of genetic diseases in the Jewish community?
Ilana Osowicki, a Triton Jewish leader, is bringing genetic screening to UC San Diego's Jewish student community through JScreen, a non-proft community-based public health initiative dedicated to preventing Jewish genetic diseases. Ilana already has funding for 75 student tests, and needs your help for the remaining 25.
With the help of sisters from Alpha Epsilon Phi as well as support from Hillel, Ilana is holding a screening event for UC San Diego students on October 27th. Her goal is to be able to offer free testing to 100 students.
