Jill Yordy, Bernie Delegate from Alaska, goes to Philly
Organized by: Jill Yordy
July 30, 2016
EVENT DATE Jul 25, 2016
Bernie needs every unwavering pledged delegate he can get to show up in Philly this July and I intend to be do all I can to support him as a pledged delegate from Alaska! I am prepared to support a progressive platform that includes support for a $15/hour minimum wage, universal healthcare for all Americans, protections for workers, and strong action on climate change. I will engage superdelegates in conversation and explain why Bernie is our BEST chance to beat Trump this November and start making our government work for all Americans, not just the 1%.
To do that I am asking for your help to raise the money needed to go to the convention: airfare, lodging, food, etc. Alaska is about as far from Philly as you can get and still be in the USA!
A little about me: I've lived in Alaska for almost 7 years. I moved to Fairbanks from Colorado and met my husband up here. For the past several years I have worked on conservation and social justice issues throughout Alaska, primarily ones stemming from wealth inequality. My husband and I built our house a few miles outside of Fairbanks where we now live with our 3 year old daughter, Raven. A happy set of circumstances led me to work on Bernie's campaign and re-united me with the political activist roots planted by my maternal grandmother. Now, I am looking forward to supporting Bernie as a delegate in Philly and continuing the revolution through my work as a District Chair at home.
Did I mention that my birthday is July 27th? I'd appreciate any donation you can give to help me spend my birthday getting Bernie the Democratic Nomination!
