My name is Jillian Stapf. I am a athletic trainer and personal trainer at MVP Sportsplex in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I have been swimming ever since I was four years old when I started age group swim team. I am a Michigan native and grew up in Hudsonville, Michigan. When I graduated high school I moved out to California to play division I college water polo at California State University Northridge. After obtaining my bachelors I decided to move to Miami to continue my education and earned my Masters in Athletic Training from Florida International University. When I returned to Grand Rapids more then a year ago I heard about this race and I thought that it is such a amazing event! What a challenge to swim next to the Mackinac Bridge and raise money for a great charity, Habitat for Humanity. So naturally I had to be a part of it. I am very excited about this experience and I feel that I am very fortunate to be one of the eighty individuals that will be participating in this event, out of hundreds of applicants! So for those who are taking the time to read a little bit about me, I am asking you to donate so I may reach my fundraising goal of $4,800. Without it I will not be able to participate in this race, but more importantly you will be helping families in Michigan build safe homes to live in. Thank you so much! See you at the Mighty Mac!
