BENEFITING: American Red Cross
As we reach the five year anniversary of the September 2011 flood in The Southern Tier it is a good time to reflect with grateful hearts. In the midst of the devastation we witnessed the generosity of volunteers and donors from our community and across the country. The Red Cross mobilized volunteers and responded with humanitarian aid.
- The Red Cross set up 11 local shelters. The largest shelter, at the Binghamton University Events Center housed as many as 1,700 people.
- The Red Cross provided more than 7,139 overnight stays for displaced members of our community
- The Red Cross provided over 66,872 meals
These emergency services were made possible by the donations of time and treasure by people from all over the United States.
At this very moment, our fellow citizens in Louisiana are experiencing the same devastating consequences of a catastrophic flood that we experienced in 2011. Once again, The Red Cross is responding, including sponsoring more than 30 volunteers from The Southern Tier.
As we commemorate the flood of 2011 we have an opportunity to express our gratitude for the aid we received by supporting our brothers and sisters in Louisiana. By making a donation to The Red Cross you will play a role in helping people recover from this tragedy. Please donate any amount. Every dollar counts. Jim Rollo Insurance and Financial Services, Inc will match the first $1,000 donated. Thank you for caring. Thank you for sharing.
