What started out as a simple opportunity for brother-friends to make some cycling memories, has become something special. Chris Knerl, a physical therapist, one of our riders, and our lead fundraiser, works with Special Ops Forces to keep them mentally and physically fit to perform heroic tasks as part of their daily routine.
I am humbled by the support we've received thus far. We've had five friends step forward to volunteer as drivers for the support vehicles. The following sponsors have contributed significantly to defray our costs:
University of Utah, Vail Valley Medical Center, San Juan Regional Medical Center, Somnia Anesthesia, Epic Brewing Company, & Pro-Bar
And, of course, our families have been hugely supportive in our training regimen, be it loads of laundry or making time for us.
I will turn 47 while on the Race Across America this June. I AM the token old-guy on the team of otherwise early 30-somethings. Please, please, please support me as I turn "my turn at turning the pedals" into a benefit for our country's true heroes.
For those of you who have already given - THANK YOU.
Be well, Jim
