Jimmy Blacks battle against Cancer
Organized by: Mikella Robinson
Jimmy and Coni Le Black have been together 13 years, married for 12. Coni Le is a National Recording Artist and Jimmy is a Masonry worker. Coni Le, Jimmy and Coni's brother, Frankie Smith Jr. recently recorded a gospel album called "Extreme Mercy."They are members of the Leadbelt Pentecostal church in Bonne Terre, MO. Jimmy was diagnosed at the end of January 2015 with T4 Rectal Cancer, just a week after Jimmy's mother, Andrea Black of Bonne Terre passed away due to cancer taking her life. Jimmy went thru six weeks of Chemo and Radiation which caused his health to deteriorate. He lost a lot of weight and has very little energy. However, this didn't stop Jimmy from getting up every morning at 5:00 am for work so he could provide for his family and keep his insurance. He prayed to God everyday to help give him the strength just to make it through the day. He would have to leave work by noon so Coni could take him to St. Anthony's hospital for his treatments. Coni put everything on hold so she can take care of her husband. She has been so dedicated to help Jimmy through this rough time along with her parents, Frank and Bonnie Smith and Jimmy's father Homer Black. Jimmy recently went through surgery June 10th, which he spent 10 days in the hospital. He now has to wear a Colostomy bag for three months. He will then have to have another surgery to have the bag removed. Jimmy still has a long road ahead of him (6 months to a year left of chemo) before the doctors can say he is cancer free. Coni and Jimmy also applied for some assistance through the state and was turned down. Jimmy only receives $220.00 a week from the Brick Layers Union which isn't enough to help them with medical expenses and regular bills. Coni and Jimmy are wonderful Christians who would help anyone without giving it a second thought. Any help would be greatly appreciated to help this couple through this trying time. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. God Bless Everyone and thank you!
