Jimmy's Village School
Organized by: Zena Hatchman
A few weeks ago, a friend and I took a trip to Cambodia and stumbled upon this wonderful place. We wandered in out of curiosity and were immediately welcomed by many bright, young faces and an enthusiastic teacher. We ended up going back every day until our vacation ended!
Jimmy's Village School is run by a young Cambodian man named Jimmy. It is located in Siem Riep, Cambodia, and it targets poor children who cannot afford to go to a proper school. Many of the children have never had any opportunity for education before coming to Jimmy's Village School. At the school, Jimmy teaches English, general knowledge, and computer skills. He is a very encouraging young man with a passion for helping his country.
The school is free for all students, but this means the school must find ways to survive without the help of tuition fees. Relying only on donations and hard earned money from laundry services and tuk tuk driving, it is sometimes difficult to make ends meet. Any amount you donate is appreciated so much.
Pretty soon, I'll have a video posted up so you can get a little insight on the school, such as how it runs, messages from the students, etc. Also, if you would like to see how the money was spent, please provide me with your e-mail address. I can request information on how each dime was spent in detail.
