BENEFITING: Somaly Mam Foundation
In a little more than 30 days I will be receiving an upgrade to a 3.0 system! Cause as I say: "I don't get older, I get better!" So I am hoping for a more wiser, faster, more improved system! lol
For the ones that know me well, I haven't had it easy in life... But I am a happy, driven, strong person and I know things will just get better for me!
I am proud of many of my achievements and feel really blessed for having come this far, for the amazing friends and family I have, for many decisions I made in life that have brought me here. I live in an amazing city, the city I chose to live in! I have the health and the strength to over come the challenges in life!
Unfortunately, not many girls in the world have the same opportunity as me.
As I am getting to my 30, besides being happy with my life, I am ashamed of the world we currently live in!
A world where little girls are still being sold for sex by their own parents, where hundreds of thousands of girls are mutilated, where women are dying while giving birth because of lack of care.... and so many other issues that I am sad to realize that will not be solved in my life time!
But looking at all of that and realizing how much I have been blessed with, for my 30th birthday all I want is a better world for the future generations to come!
So I am asking you to help me!!!
My birthday wish this year is to raised $100 for each of my 30 years of life so far! It doesn't matter how much you give, but please, give something!
I chose this organization after watching the documentary "Half the Sky". I was amazed and inspired by this woman, who after all her struggle and all the challenges, she keeps on going, one day at a time with a gorgeous smile on her face and a lot of hope for her girls. So many of us will never go through half of what she went (and goes through) everyday - Thank God- and yet, we can't be that happy!
