450 students from several Baltimore City Public Schools will journey to a local historic site - Hampton National Historic Site (http://www.nps.gov/hamp/index.htm). The funds are to pay for the buses. Once at Hampton, students will participate in a guided tour and activities that will bring the 18th and 19th century mansion to life. Students will learn about agriculture, slavery, geothermal heating and cooling, and more. This will be a wonderful chance to get kids outside and out of the classroom, and builds on a longstanding partnership between the school system and the National Park Service.
