BENEFITING: ALABAMA HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION
No landmark in Mobile, Alabama, is more important to our modern celebration of Mardi Gras than the Joe Cain house on Augusta Street. The house was built by Joe shortly after he married, and he and Elizabeth raised their family there for nearly 17 years. It was where he lived when he made that fateful ride with the Lost Cause Minstrels in 1868. This is our chance to put a much-needed historical marker outside of that house. The marker has been applied for by Mobile Mask and approved by the Alabama Historical Association. It has also received the blessing and pledge of help in the installation from Mayor Stimpson. Now it's up to us - the people - to make it happen. Give $5, give 10, whatever you can. Thank you!
