BENEFITING: Southern California Bulldog Rescue, Inc.
This summer, I will be running the Bulldog 50K Trail Ultramarathon to raise money for Southern California Bulldog Rescue. It's no secret that my bulldog, Chewie, means the world to me. Not a day goes by that I don't let me best friend know how much I love him and how much he means to me. Chewie wasn't a rescue. I'll admit he's been spoiled with belly rubs, hugs, and treats since day one. But there are so many bulldogs out there that have never been shown the love and care that dogs like Chewie have. Running 31 miles through the mountains is rough, but it's nothing compared to what some of these wrinkly guys and gals have gone through. They've been mistreated, abandoned, used for breeding and tossed out like trash, or just been given up because they're old and no longer the cute puppy their family originally wanted. I've seen them come in malnourished, with infections, limping with tumors and broken bones their owners never sought medical attention for. SoCal Bulldog Rescue does a tremendous job of showing these dogs a brand new life they never even new existed. They not only give them necessary and sometimes life saving medical care, they give them the love and attention they deserve. I've seen them transform dogs' lives time and time again and help place them in a home where they become part of a loving family. They are an amazing group of dedicated volunteers and wonderful human beings. But all of this does come with a cost, and SCBR needs and appreciates all the help they can get. No donation is too small. Even $5 will help go towards showing a dog that there are good people out there that care and are willing to help them find a forever family. Thank you so much for your time and support. For more information on SoCal Bulldog Rescue, feel free to visit their website at http://www.socalbulldogrescue.org/
