EVENT DATE: Sep 17, 2017
On May 15th, 2014 Joey Fabus was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an inoperable brain tumor located in the most essential part of the brain, the brain stem. Considered rare, DIPG attacks approximately 400 children per year. The survival rate? ZERO!!! Every child diagnosed with DIPG will die from DIPG, usually in less than a year.
On January 21, 2015, after fighting DIPG for 8 months, surrounded by his loving family, Joey Fabus died because of DIPG. This should never have happened, not to Joey, not to those who died before him and not to any other child afflicted with DIPG.
After Joey's death, his parents and friends started the Joey Fabus Childhood Cancer Foundation to raise funds for DIPG and other childhood cancer research facilities and help families with kids affected by cancer and DIPG. Visit JoeyFabus.com to learn more about Joey, DIPG and the foundation.
The Joey Fabus Run Over DIPG 5K Race and 1-Mile Walk is an event to raise awareness and funds for DIPG research, and to bring the entire community together to remember Joey. Register today! Thank you for your support!
