John Pam Manley
As a family, Pam and I have been very interested in identifying opportunities to give back to the community. Having grown up in and around the City of Boston, we are very aware of how fortunate we have been in our lives, and we would like to do our small part to support those less fortunate. With that goal in mind, Pam and I have decided to run the 2018 Boston Marathon and fundraise for Team Project Hope!
As many of you know, Pam's sister Christine was recently named the Executive Director of Project Hope, and we can think of no better organization to support both for the personal connection and for the mission of the organization.
Project Hope is at the forefront of efforts in Boston to move families up and out of poverty. It provides low-income women with children access to education, jobs, housing, emergency services, and fosters their personal transformation.
I have always recognized that it was my education that changed my life for the better, and it is hard to imagine trying to succeed in the classroom and in life without a stable living environment and access to these critical resources. Please help us in making a difference for these Mothers who are often in crisis situations and are unable to meet their family's basic needs. Many of them have experienced homelessness or are currently homeless and lack the education and skills necessary to achieve financial independence.
Our Boston Marathon goal is to raise a minimum of $7,500 for Project Hope. I don't think anyone is concerned about Pam's ability to finish the race on Patriots Day, but I am in the early stages of grinding out the miles around Boston and the South Shore.
We would truly appreciate your support for Project Hope!
Pam and John
