Hard to imagine with today’s…
Hard to imagine with today’s weather in Boston, that last Monday, April 18th, it was a balmy 75 degrees at 11:15am when I started off running the 120th Boston Marathon. I had a fast and solid first half with lots of love and support along the way. So much cheering through the streets of Hopkinton, Ashland, Framingham and even had a friend jump in and run a little with me along the way in Natick. Could feel myself struggling a bit as I hit Wellesley and before I knew it I was on cruise control into Newton. I reset my frame of mind and said, ‘you got this; this is where you train weekly’. But let’s face it there is nothing simple about those rolling hills in Newton.

And then came Mile 20 and a hug from my running coach and friend, Dan Fitzgerald (you are the best!). I knew I could do this. You make it up Heartbreak Hill and you know you are in the home stretch.
Run by the streets of BC and coming down Beacon is like no other. Over the hill, Citgo sign in sight and hugs from my coworkers by my office…last home stretch before running under the overpass my legs came back to me. Right on Hereford & Left on Boylston. The crowds and the excitement is the most intense moment. And then to the right in the stands the emotion kicks in and there they are…My Mom, Jake and Emmy. Their smiles and love greet me. Jake says, ‘go finish and sprint Mommy’. I send my kisses their way and I cross the finish line! I did it.

My time was 4:28:53. I am so proud to say I raised $10,375.00 to support the Bowdoin Street Healthy Champions Program and overall the BIDMC team raised $457,959.00 (this is $110k over last year’s efforts). I am so thankful for all of your support on this journey! Many of you have asked what’s next for me…Save the Date for the 121st Boston Marathon, April 17, 2017. I’ll see you on the other side.

Lots of love,

I can hardly believe that in…
I can hardly believe that in 4 weeks from today I will be done running my 3rd marathon! Mother nature has been kind to me this season...even yesterday with a beautiful day for the New Bedford Half Marathon. I did not get the time I was aiming for and was down a bit yesterday.

My mom reminded of me how dedicated I am to my training and how she's proud of me everyday! It reminded me what its all about...its the journey...some days are just easier than others. Someone mentioned to me yesterday its about endurance and not speed. More words of wisdom. And then there are my meatballs who looked me at me and said 'mommy look at your medal; I want one" Those two get me every time.

I just wanted to give a quick update to say thank you to again for your support believing in me and what I'm working towards. You are my champions that will help me cross that finish line in 4 weeks.

Dress rehearsal next weekend with a bus trip out to the start and I'll run the first 20 miles of the course with the Nike Running Club then I begin to taper.

I will be in touch the week before the marathon and send out the information to track me during the race and my number...

Thank you for being you.
