THE STORY:

A little over a year ago I was 315 pounds, not active, eating to much, drinking to much and living a very unhealthy life style. I was getting tired chasing my children, wasn't sleeping well and you guessed it SNORING hahahaha. It was around this time that a friend from high school passed away suddenly, leaving behind a wife and son. The wake was hard and it sacred me, I was a walking time bomb. It was at that point I decided that 34 years was enough of being extremely overweight. I began eating better and some pounds started to come off but anyone who knows me knows that I need RESULTS NOW!! My Boss handed me a book The Terrible and Wonderful Reasons Why I Run Long Distances by Matthew Inman, The Oatmeal, written on the inside cover was "Boston Marathon 2017, you can do it". I had never in my love wanted to run, but here we are over a year later, down 115 pounds feeling the best I even have and I'm training for my 1st Marathon. It's not Boston 2017 but Newport 2017 and I'm ready to crush this thing!! It was after finishing my first GoRuck Challenge with my Brother and CA Brother Chris that I set my PR for a half 1:53:25. I said "If I can do a Half in under 2 hours I can finish a full and now my sights are set on not just finishing it, but being as close to the 4:00:00 mark as possible!! That's my story and I'm sticking to it, I'm going to try to raise a little money for the Black Ale Project, they partner with local brewers to make Craft Brews and the proceeds go to support Veterans. http://www.blackaleproject.org
