Six year old John Fiscus had a vision that woke him up the other night. So what did John do?
John got out of bed and went out and told his mom that he had an idea. John was worried that there might be kids in his neighborhood that do not have enough food to eat.
John told his mom that he wanted to create a store "where people could buy food for free!" That night John invented the Food Pantry!
That Sunday John came to church with his family and he told me wanted to help kids in his community, making sure that everybody had enough food to eat. We talked after church and together we dreamed up John's Food Drive. For the next three weeks John will be collecting food from his neighbors and his church friends to stock his church's food pantry for the summer.
Here is how you can help this young man discover the true joy that comes from giving and serving:
You can bring a bag of groceries to Redford Aldersgate United Methodist Church anytime before June 5th.
1000 Beech Daly, Redford MI 48239
Or you can make a contribution to John's Food Drive.
All proceeds go directly to the Aldersgate Food Program that serves 80+ families a month with an emergency food box.
John will get to do all the shopping and sorting of this food so that he can truly own his vision and feel the joy that comes from making a difference.
Thanks for giving so generously. Together we are making a difference.
