March of Dimes Florida
We were so excited to find out we were pregnant after several rounds of in vitro. Everything was going great until my 17th week of pregnancy. That is when I was put on bed rest. We had to move back in with my husbands parents, because I could not do anything. At 27 weeks something did not feel right so we went to the hospital and the doctor said we are taking you for an emergency C-section. I can remember saying “no you can’t, it is too early they are not ready”. The next few hours were a blur to us. I remember getting to briefly see Brady and Gracie as the doctors and nurses took them away because they were not breathing. Those first days were so scary and we could only see our children behind glass walls in the NICU. It was weeks before we could hold and touch them. They spent 4 months in the NICU. For the first year our home felt like a hospital with all of the equipment and no visitors. We could not take the chance of someone bringing a germ in the house. It was very hard to imagine when they were first born that we would even get to their first birthday, much less their 11th! Being born at 27 weeks and spent 4 months in the NICU. We’re very thankful to the March of Dimes for all the research they fund for premature births. Without them we may not be where we are today! We are grateful with each passing year as our kids have grown up to be active and full of personality. Gracie is creative and love fashion like her mom. Brady is into sports and fishing. We could not be more blessed. Please join us in the support of March of Dimes with your donation today.
