I am so proud to be a part of this amazing community of people who see the world through a lens of gratitude and abundance- even when they have so little. Please help us make Epafrodite's idea a reality!

“I have an idea- I have a good life now, and this means that all people should have the opportunity for a good life. My idea is for The Ihangane Project to find a way to help more people in different regions who are still struggling.”

JOIN EPAFRODITE’S CALL TO ACTION!
A generous donor has come forward to offer a matching challenge grant of $15,000! This means that we have the potential of raising a total of $30,000. Most importantly, we can make Epafrodite’s idea a reality.
What would we do with $30,000?
These funds would allow us to expand our programming to an additional 13 health centers associated with Nemba District Hospital in Gakenke District of Rwanda. Funds will support Community Mobilization and Leadership Development, Baseline Data Collection, Training, Ongoing Mentorship, Evaluation of our Impact and Refining our Approach to expand throughout Rwanda.
Our Success is Rooted in our Philosophy
At The Ihangane Project, we believe that healthy relationships are essential to thriving communities, and this begins when each person feels valued, capable, and hopeful in the future. We begin with health because this is one of the most vulnerable and essential connections - our relationship with our own bodies and our relationship with the person who is supporting our path to health.
What does this mean in practice?
Our team posed this question to sixty of our stakeholders- from nurses to community health workers, HIV+ mothers to smallholder farmers and at-risk artisans. Epafrodite’s response really inspired us!
“In my life, all is going well except for the problem which makes us sit together today (HIV). I am grateful for the nurses who give me advice on how to live a healthy life and how to care for my children. By sitting with others who have the same problem as I do, I feel stronger and more able to overcome my problems. We benefit from advice in our daily life and learn how to follow the line that is most important for us in our future life.”
