Joining together for Jon

I've created this for my very humble and good friend Jon Jacobs. It's never easy asking for help. Jon is a veteran Navy Corpsman who volunteered for a tour in Iraq in 2009. It was a challenging deployment, as most usually are. While in Iraq, Jon was exposed to areas hot with radiation.
In January of 2014, Jon was diagnosed with B-Cell Leukemia or ALL. He is now in the maintenance phase of Chemotherapy but his battle is far from over. Not only has Jon struggled with returning home from war, the added fight for his life against leukemia while still trying to support his two children. Suffice it to say his stress level is not conducive to his health.

Now he has the battle of convincing the VA that his Leukemia is service connected so that he can continue to support his family. Jon has fallen on dire times due to his service and his Leukemia. For a guy who has done everything right, this kind of thing should never happen.

At this time, Jon's fiance is having to work 40-60 hours a week just to make barely make ends meet, which takes time away from the family. Jon was a Firefighter and EMT at the time he was diagnosed. He has literally spent his life serving others and it's our time to serve him. Due to his current battle he is unable to work.

Jon is planning to move his family to Tennessee where the local economy is a little more forgiving. Currently, Jon is selling off all of his possessions just to survive while he traverses the appeals process with the VA. No Veteran battling Leukemia should ever be in this position.

I urge you to help this hero by bridging the gap and supporting his cause.
