BENEFITING: APBD RESEARCH FOUNDATION
There is reason for hope for patients with Adult Polyglucosan Body Disease - APBD - which is a devastating degenerative neurological disease - whose symptoms mimic those of MS. APBD affects women and men between ages 35 and 50 and progresses relentlessly. At the moment, there is no treatment or cure for APBD.
BUT NOW - A new discovery is setting the APBD community abuzz.
Preliminary studies show that Guaiacol, a naturally occurring substance used in many cough medicines, may increase the length of an APBD patient’s life with very little in the way of side effects. It may halt the progression of deadly symptoms as well. Researchers are also hopeful that it will help patients with other, related diseases.
Hadassah Medical Center in Israel is preparing to begin a clinical trial using Guaiacol. We need your help to take advantage of this amazing opportunity and lay the groundwork to bring a clinical trial to patients in the United States.
Like our marathoners Jojo and Chloe, we need to keep going. Help us bring a clinical trial to all APBD patients.
We're almost there.
