The Child Life Department consists of Child Life Assistants, Child Life Specialists, and Music Therapists, who strive to help patients and families understand and cope with their hospital stay and their overall health care experience.
The Child Life Events Fund is used to support activities, events, and specialized programming to support patients and their families while they receive treatment at Children’s Hospital. Children and families can spend weeks or even months at Children’s Hospital during the course of their treatment and recovery. The Child Life staff helps families cope with their child’s medical situation through education, support and a host of activities that encourage normalcy. In addition, Children’s provides developmental, social and emotional support to children of all ages through play, activities and events.
