Show Joni Some Love
Organized by: Steve Bystriansky
On this last Thursday evening, Joni was right in the middle of supporting the Blast into Scouting registration drive. She was taking supplies to a registration spot when her power steering quit. Fortunetly, she was in a gas station when it happen and did not have an accident, but it could have beenmuch worse. And hearing about it gave us all a huge scare because we all want the important people in our lives to be safe. Well she is safe now, but the van is dead and Joni is without any transportation at all. Now is the time for all of to pull together and show Joni some love. Please donate now.
HERE'S THE WHOLE STORY
Joni Mimnaugh has been helping scouting groups throughout the Chicago suburbs for many, many years. From cooking up camp out breakfast to planning Cub Scout Pack meetings, many of us have been relying on her help and guidance for years. Those of us that have seen her in action know how caring she is. Through teaching, mentoring, and just simply encouraging children, Joni has made important and lasting contributions to the young people of our world. We have all been blessed to be in the presence of a truely kind soul. As a volunteer, Joni is as gracious and compassionate as they come.
Here's The Problem
Joni has an infamous minivan that she uses to cart around all sorts of gear for the scouts. That van, which she has been driving for years, has really been a lifeline for thousands of scouts. Its got well over 230,000 miles on it. But it is in pretty rough shape now and needs a lot of work. We are pretty worried that her little van is going to break down and leaver her stranded somewhere on the side of the road.
How You Can Help
A few of us Cub Scout leaders have put our heads together to come up with a way to help Joni out. We want to express our appreciation for all of her efforts.
That is where you come in. We are reaching out to everyone that has at one time or another been involved with scouting to pitch in for Joni. Our goal is to replace Joni's current vehicle with another minivan that is in much better condition. Please help us help Joni by joining in this fund raiser: Click the DONATE button and make a donation now.
