The mission of Alivio Foundation is to serve people in need and to provide
emergency help and spiritual guidance in the most concrete and basic way possible.
We link our population to other organizations, resources and government agencies,
like the UN, according to their individual needs.
Our organization was founded in 1992, working for HIV clients. Begun in
Washington D.C., we quickly established a branch in San Juan, Puerto Rico
We assist people in need for basic education, mental and physical health, housing,
and our expertise is in crisis intervention. Our work has been provided in the USA,
Puerto Rico and, when possible, some international emergencies. The most recent
emergency took place in Haiti, wherein we provided counseling, support and more
than 95 tons of goods, such as rice, kitchen pots, cooking oil and cleaning supplies.
