Stuff About Me:

Thank you so much for taking time to visit my fundraising page.  This will be my 9th year running the Chicago Marathon and I am very excited to be running for a great organization like OAR (Organization for Autism Research).

I first learned about OAR through my wife and her friend Dan Padilla.  We all met Dan during my wife’s first year running the marathon and her training with CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association) group out of Wheaton.  They were both in the 11:30 pace group and spent many Saturdays struggling though the elements to get the training miles done.  During those runs she learned about the Jogging for Josh team.  Dan is the team leader and Josh is one of his sons.  Josh has Autism, as do several more friends children that we know.  That is why Suzy felt there was more that she could do besides just run a marathon.  This way there is a purpose to all those miles and she might have the ability to help make some type of change.  This year is a little different for Suzy, as she is not able to run the marathon due to injuries.  That is why I am taking on the lead to help her continue her cause through running the miles for her and OAR.

You may also know that my family and I have been working with an organization here in Naperville that trains service dogs.  These lovely dogs are then adopted for children with special needs including Autism.  I must say it has been a moving experience and we are all hooked.  So you can see this is an important cause for me and my family.

I appreciate you taking the time to visit my page and learn more about why I am asking for your support.  I also appreciate any donation you can make, be it big or small.

If you would like any more information about OAR, Jogging for Josh or VIP (Very Important Pooches), please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thank You

Jose Gallegos
