EVENT DATE: Sep 19, 2016
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Sep 30, 2016
Could you feed yourself on $4.27 per day?
We're challenging you to try.
Challenge yourself for one day on Monday, September 19 or up to a week through Sunday, September 25 and feed yourself on a food stamp budget.
Every day, San Diego families, military members, elderly and the disabled put food on their tables using CalFresh, formerly known as food stamps. The average CalFresh allotment for each person in San Diego is only $4.27 per day or $29.89 per week. Raise awareness of hunger in San Diego County by taking a walk in the shoes of those living with this reality every day.
Want to make an even bigger impact? Fundraise during the Challenge to help more San Diego families access the food they need.
This year, individuals who raise $250 or more toward the 2016 CalFresh Challenge will receive a San Diego Hunger Coalition tote bag – a small thank you for your support. Please scroll through the images to see an example tote! Please note, if you choose to fundraise for the CalFresh Challenge – whether you raise $25 or $250 – on behalf of the families we assist, we cannot thank you enough!
Can't participate this year? Donate to join the fight against hunger!
