(UPDATES POSTED AT BOTTOM)
I am making this page to help my wife go to college debt free. She is an amazing person and has been so selfless over the last 5 years of being together that I think she deserves this. Let me elaborate.
I am a disabled veteran. I suffer from PTSD, lower back and knee pain and depression. Because of this, I have been a very difficult person to be around for the last few years. Bouts of anger and severe depression have been the norm for most of our relationship. But through all of that, she has stood by my side and helped pick up the slack for me. This meant quitting an amazing job working for the sporting venues in Kansas City to move in with me as well as her not being able to hold a job or even have a girls night out for quite some time. She has helped me through some of the hardest parts of my life.
But now, I'm well on the road to recovery. I am prepping to go to school myself by using my GI Bill and some financial aid to keep from taking on any debt. I would love the same for her. She has already applied for her MYCAA spouse grant so please, consider a donation of any size to help pay for the remainder of her tuition to cosmetology school.
I did this thru her social media account as she can answer any questions anyone may have.
This is Josey. I wanted to take the time to thank my husband for kindly setting this up. I had no idea he was doing this. Thank you so much to my friends who have donated and those who have shared this page on your social media.
Cosmetology has been something I've wanted to do for over 10 years. I really want to make this a reality so that I can support our growing family while my husband leaves his military career and continues his education with his military benefits to better his life and ours.
Completing my certification would mean that I can work a very well paying job to support us and our children (a 2 year old and one on the way!) while he pursues his dreams as well.
We are wanting to accomplish this as debt free as possible. We have been working diligently on our finances to make sure we can create a stress free life for our children when they grow up.
I want to attend Austins Beauty School here in Clarksville, TN. The tuition cost is $14,975 for the full 1500 credit hour course. I have to put $575 down to cover my kit fees. I am going to be receiving my $4000 MYCAA grant from the military spouse program and that leaves me with just over $10000. I can cover $3000 of that tuition by making monthly payments while in school. So we are raising the last $7000 to help cover tuition.
Thank you so so so so much for your generosity!
Josey applied for a scholarship to the school and received one on top of her MYCAA grant. The only portion we are responsible for is the $575 downpayment (Due by Aug. 21, 14) and then $100/month. The $575 is what we are needing asap so that she can start Sept. 2nd, 2014.
