Josh and Barbara's Dream
Organized by: Barbara Ehnat
Josh and I met over 2 years ago and fell in love. It's that simple. I cannot imagine my life without him in it. We bought our dream townhouse together and then Josh proposed. Living in Charleston is not cheap but we have found ways to live cheap. And now we have been planning our wedding. Planning a wedding in the lowcountry is ever harder. We keep cutting but feel we are losing everything we wanted in our wedding. Josh lost his job teaching from politics within the county. He found a new job selling insurance but has been having a hard time find business and people willing to spend the money to protect themselves. As a teacher myself, my salary barley keeps food on the table and the electricity working. We do not want to cancel the wedding and lose all of the down payments but it looks like that may be a possibility. Josh deserves this more than anyone. Over 5 years ago Josh was coaching football at The Citadel after graduating and playing in 2007. He loved The Citadel and loved the sport. But then he was robbed at gunpoint from his quarterback and others. It broke him and everything was taken from him. He has is resilient and survived but the battle with PTSD will be with us forever. He is finally happy and I want this moment to be about him and his progress and finally being "okay again". It has taken this long and I do not want to see him fall a part thinking he is failing and cannot give us the wedding we both want. We are paying for this ourselves and every little bit helps. I cannot express my gratification to you for taking the time to read our story and consider what you could do to change our lives. It might seem minor to some but for us this is could change our lives.
