BENEFITING: AMBASSADOR PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Dear friends – By the time you finish reading this, at least one child will have been sold into sex slavery. Yes, every year 1.2 million children enter into this horrific industry. That’s one child trafficked every 26 seconds. When I hear statistics like these, I am grieved, and I find myself crying out to God, seeking what I can do to help.
I’m excited to tell you that God has provided me an answer, starting with a trip to West Africa last summer. It was an amazing experience to invest in the lives of the next generation of leaders and begin lasting relationships. And I realized that while you and I alone can’t change the global market of sex slavery demand that impacts millions of children, we can do something for about 60 precious children.
Remember Nhu operates 65 children’s homes of refuge in 12 countries and later this year, I will be visiting 3 of these homes in West Africa so that I can answer God’s call to serve these children and point them to the amazing grace and love of Jesus Christ.
The plan is to travel to West Africa from late December through the first week of January with 5 other members of my church, Ambassador Presbyterian in Apex, NC. We will be leading a New Life Camp with Remember Nhu’s Director of Spiritual Development, Sandy Bryan. Our goal is to help the children grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus while developing and nurturing lasting, meaningful relationships with them.
This is a great opportunity and I am thankful to God for preparing the way for me to go. Since my last trip there with a team in the summer of 2015, my wife Andrea and I have become involved as stateside home coordinators for one of the children’s homes in that country. We are responsible for coordinating communication between sponsors and children, encouraging the children in their education and spiritual growth, communicating with the house parents, and advocating for the girls in the home. I’m excited to return and reconnect with the children at all three homes, and especially at this home we are more involved with.
To make this trip a reality I need to raise around $2,500. I also need folks to pray with and for me as I prepare to go and while I am there serving. Will you consider partnering with me in either or both ways? Please note that all contributions are tax deductible if using the link in the right column, and any amount I raise above my individual needs will go towards the other material needs of our team and to the ministry of Remember Nhu in West Africa. Crowdrise will also take a small percentage of your donation here as a transaction fee, and I assure you that I'll make up that difference.
Thank you for your consideration and your continued love and support for me. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact me via text, call or email. And thanks for reading this.
Blessings to you,
“Come and see what God has done: He is awesome in His deeds toward the children of mankind.” – Psalm 66:5
