Friends, I need your help.
As many of you know, I'm a runner, and I've run several marathons. But I've spent the summer training for a new challenge. I'll be doing the Tough Mudder on Sep 21. It combines a 10-12 mile run with 30+ military style obstacles, including crawling through mud under barbed wire, swimming through icy water, and running through a field of live electric wires.
It will be intense. It will be challenging. I'll have to be tough to get through it. But....
It doesn't compare to living in poverty. There are people right here in Kansas City that can barely afford to feed their families or pay their rent. And unless they have a family member who can take care of their kids, they certainly can't afford child care. So they aren't able to work, making it a vicious cycle, leading to public assistance, homelessness or even worse.
Operation Breakthrough is an amazing orgainization that helps the poorest families in Kansas City by providing childcare and more to these families. I'm doing the Tough Mudder on their behalf. I hope you will join me.
Please support my effort with a DONATION. No amount is too small. But I challenge you to dig deep and think about this cause before you decide.
Thanks in advance.
