Hello! My name is Josh Satre, and I'm running the Marine Corp Marathon this October on Team Give to the World/CitiHope to benefit their humanitarian missions delivering health and hope to vulnerable communities worldwide. I've had the privilege of knowing people working with these two incredible organizations, and both are highly effective at directly leveraging donations to meet urgent needs worldwide. A brief blurb on both organizations is below:
CitiHope International seeks to put a healthy life within reach of everyone by promoting health, preventing disease, and providing cure to underserved populations worldwide. Our strategy is to focus resources on a few major world areas to “make a world of difference for good. CitiHope strives to uphold the values of stewardship, integrity and compassion exampled through concrete actions of people of faith.
Give to the World helps to stabilize the most conflict-ridden areas of the world by providing families with the humanitarian aid they require for daily survival. Our material and supplies save lives, alleviate suffering, restore dignity, and provide the foundation for further economic, political, and social development.
Funds raised will support the humanitarian missions of Give to the World and CitiHope, delivering health and hope to vulnerable communities worldwide.
Here's an example of some of their work this year
Through a partnership with Project Hope, Give to the World is shipping $178,000 in support of Syrian refugees across the Middle East. We are equipping approximately 15 health care clinics along the border in Turkey. Our last shipment to the region enabled our partners to provide essential health care to hospitals and health facilities across strife-torn northern Syria, where few humanitarian organizations are supporting medical facilities.
The charitable giving of GTTW supports lifesaving activities for a Women's Hospital and Primary Health Care Facility that offers gynecological, internal medicine, and pediatric services. Each month, the facility treats an average of 3,000 patients and has performed over 1,200 deliveries of babies
