I am so excited to be running the 2015 Boston Marathon with Team Joslin to support two of my siblings, Grant and Casey, both living with Type 1 Diabetes.
On November 8th, 1998, Grant was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and on September 6th, 2004, history repeated itself when Casey was diagnosed. Since 1998, I have learned how to become a deeply caring, supportive and patient sibling. In 2004, that feeling only grew stronger.
On Monday, April 20th I will be running 26.2 miles. Although this seems long, it is nothing compared to the combined 77,000 finger pricks and 48,000 insulin injections Grant and Casey have done. I can't wait to rock the Team Joslin jersey on race day!
