BENEFITING: Joslin Diabetes Center
ORGANIZER: Joslin Diabetes Center
Today I ran a training run - the last 2 miles were grueling. They are miles I have run before but I guess this age thing and winter really has impacted me this year. I pushed myself though because as some know I am running the NYC marathon in November. I didn't qualify and I didn't get picked by lottery. I am running under a charity. The charity is Joslin Diabetes Center - it is a not-for-profit affiliated with Harvard Medical School. Dr. Joslin started the center over a century ago to research & help those with diabetes.
Joslin helps all types of diabetes. On a personal level I have family members impacted by Type 2 diabetes. As genes play a role in our health - I like knowing there is a center researching the treatments & impact of the disease.
I am committed to raising $2500 for the charity. If you would like to help the cause please click on the link below. I understand there are many Go Fund me pages & causes to contribute to these days but with over a century of research I think this is a worthy cause. Thanks in advance!
