BENEFITING: Joslin Diabetes Center
ORGANIZER: Joslin Diabetes Center
I am extremely excited to run my first marathon in NYC this November as a member of Team Joslin! All donations provide financial resources to Joslin's High Hopes Fund, a critical source of immediate, unrestricted support that ensures excellence and scientific rigor for diabetes treatment and research. I am personally connected to and motivated by Joslin Diabetes Center’s mission for a world without diabetes, since this illness has played an integral part in my family’s life. Three years before my own diagnosis at age 12, my younger brother, Kevin, developed diabetes at the tender age of 5.While life with diabetes presents daily challenges, we face the illness head-on with resilience, live active, healthy lifestyles, and refuse to let it prevent us from pursuing our favorite activities. Running the marathon is the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for long-distance running with my dream for a world without diabetes.
My goal is to raise $3,000 to support diabetes education, treatment, and research. I appreciate any support as I run towards a cure for diabetes! Thank you!
