Journey to Costa Rica: Journeyers, March 2017
Team Member: Ester Morales
EVENT DATE Mar 10, 2017
Dear friends & family,
As some of you already know, I have always felt the need to help others. As a matter of fact, nothing makes me happier. This year, I will be joining a volunteering trip with Wejourney and TECHO to Costa Rica, where we will be building homes for unprivileged families.
I would greatly appreciate your support in the form of a donation, every little bit counts! The funds that I raise will go towards food and supplies for building the homes.
A more detailed description of the organization and trip is below.
Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?' - Martin Luther King, Jr.
Thank you so much for your support!
We're going to Costa Rica to build homes for families currently living in the slums.
TECHO, our on the ground, non profit partner, is actively working in 22 countries to permanently eradicate poverty in our lifetime. TECHO works in 650 slums, has mobilized over 800,000 volunteers and built over 105,000 transitional homes across Latin America.
We'll spend two days building a transitional home, working alongside the family and local volunteers. Then, at the end of a hard and rewarding two-day build, we'll hand the keys to the family and watch as they open their front door for the first time.
Next, we'll explore the spectacular coast for 3 days to process the experience we just shared and make decisions on what we want to bring back into our lives.
It takes a village to make social change. I would greatly appreciate your support in our mission.
