BENEFITING: EDGE OF SEVEN INC
I've been traveling internationally for the past five years. I have lived in China and Costa Rica and traveled everywhere in between. I recently returned from an around-the-world adventure in which I worked on farms, climbed mountains, got rescued by the prime minister from a flood in Thailand, worked with indiginous communities in Panama and much much more.
After seeing a lot of the world and meeting people from all backgrounds, I wanted to do something to give back. Some way to help out. Luckily, I realized all of this right as I finished the book, Born to Run and decided to sign up for my very first marathon.
And what's the point of running 26.6 miles if you aren't doing it for a cause?
I found a great organization that was connected with the Denver Marathon:
Edge of Seven is a nonprofit that fuses international travel and service. 100% of public donations directly fund projects empowering girls in the developing world.
Our mission is to create a movement. We generate awareness and volunteer support for projects that invest in education, health, and economic opportunity for girls in developing countries. We empower girls by supporting initiatives that are locally driven, community focused, and sustainable. It is our goal to make a measurable difference in the villages that we serve with a chain of dedicated volunteers and investment over time.
Want to help?
100% of public donations directly fund projects that empower girls. All operating costs are covered by our international volunteer program so that every dollar you give goes to blazing a trail.
