Fire Up A Cure - is an annual event, raising awareness and money for childhood CANCER.
A community event highlighting firefighter COMPETITIONS and family fun!
Each fire department (team) is assigned a child fighting cancer to be their honorary coach. The goal of each team is to raise the most amount of funds for the Cure It Foundation....This year Midlothian Fire department will be leading from the front in support for our special friend Jack William Higgins!
Each year, firefighters throughout Illinois are invited to compete as teams of six in a series of challenges that include inflatable jousting, tug-o-war, wing-eating contest, fire truck pull, and an obstacle course, all in the name of pediatric cancer.
This year's Fire Up a Cure Event will be held on Saturday, July 30th at St. Xavier University.
Every penny... funds clinical trials for pediatric cancer research, which is extremely underfunded. They are also dedicated to community programs, raising cancer awareness, and ensuring kids that are currently fighting, survivors and siblings have the opportunity to succeed.
All donations are greatly appreciated and please share this with others as we are strongest in numbers!
We appreciate your support in the efforts to help Jack win his battle. Click on the "see more" at the top of the page for Jack Higgins personal story!
