2nd Annual Art Van Charity Challenge

Over the past year, Judson Center has become an oasis for my family ever since our 3 year old daughter Lilly was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Raising a child with ASD can be very stressful, isolating, and overwhelming for a family. We generally avoid typical activities that most families enjoy together because it is too overwhelming for Lilly. Judson Center Autism Connections provides a relief from that stress by providing a nurturing environment for Lilly and a Mom's Support Group for me. Lilly is always welcomed with open arms by the warm accepting therapists and she continues to grow in many ways since beginning therapy at Judson. The Mom's Support Group has allowed me to meet other women who share the same joys and challenges of raising a child with ASD. I am very grateful everyday to the staff and funders at Judson Center Autism Connections because I don't know where our family would be without this wonderful program.

Quote from a board member or executive director of your organization about how the grant positively impacted your program/organization:

“Judson Center’s successful completion of its $1.2 million Hope Begins Here Campaign was truly an effort by the entire community to create a first rate autism services center. The new home of Judson Center Autism Connections is a state-of-the-art facility conveniently located on our main campus at 4410 W. 13 Mile Road in Royal Oak. The facility offers updated classrooms and clinical and skills training rooms where children with autism spectrum disorders and their families receive quality and affordable services in an appropriate, sensory-based environment. We are grateful and humbled by the generosity of the many donors that contributed to the Campaign, which received a huge boost in August of 2009 through a $20,000 grant from the Art Van Million Dollar Charity Challenge. This challenge grant encouraged many new donors to support the Campaign, making the new autism center a reality".
