EVENT DATE: Jul 09, 2016
Our purpose for creating this registry was to help both raise funds for, and increase awareness about several causes in our community that are in need of help. Both of us are extremely passionate about aiding our small community in any way possible.
Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter:
One of the causes we wish to support is the Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter. The shelter is always full, past capacity with animals from around the area, most of which are victims of being dropped, abused, and neglected by previous owners. It breaks our heart to see so many kind-hearted and helpless animals be euthanized because there simply is not enough space or funds to support the constant overflow of animals. The shelter puts each animal up for adoption, but it becomes impossible to house every one of them for any long period time. It is for this reason, that we ask our guests to please give ANY monetary donation to the shelter. If they receive more funding they can buy more food and other necessities that our needed to accomodate all animals. Perhaps, if they receive enough money they be able to expand the shelter, making more room for incoming animals. Please give each innocent animal a chance to have a beautiful life through adoption, and donate to this shelter. The volunteers work extremely hard to find homes for each pet, but it is difficult to find enough people willing to take them within our community.
PATH- Paul Ambrose Trail for Health:
As many are aware, West Virginia ranks among one of the unhealthiest states in the union, with rapid increases in obesity and incidence of chronic diseases which follow suit. In pursuit of conquering our "less than ideal" title of "the most unhealthy state," there have been several health initiatives put into action. One of these, is the PATH, named for a young physician, who lost in his life in the 9/11 attacks. The PATH is a system, or network of paths that connect all of the Huntington area- from the east end (Guyandotte)to the west end (Westmoreland). These paths are created for walkers, runners, and cyclists. Due to gracious donations, and several fundraisers, various portions of the paths have been created. In order for this system of walking, running, and cycling paths to be completed, more funding is needed. The upkeep is costly, and with Huntington experiencing all seasons, it is vital that there is enough money for the necessary repairs to be made. Funding is also needed to keep the PATH system safe, such as adding pedestrian walk signs, and guard rails to protect runners and walkers along the road. Please consider donating to this wonderful initiative, and help us make Huntington healthy!
We thank you from the bottom of hearts for taking time to read and learn about our causes. Please consider donating to these wonderful charities!
God bless and love,
