On Sunday, September 10, 2017, I will climb the venerable Tokyo Tower in support of those suffering from mental illness. I am humbly asking 100 of my friends to each donate $25. Your kind contribution will be used to provide emotional support to those Americans and other foreigners living in Japan who require mental health services and other types of counseling which will be provided by a very reputable charity known as TELL.
Even if you are unable to contribute at this time, please do cheer me on as I make the ascent up this famous Japanese monument. This storied landmark (sorry for the pun) opened in 1958 and has remained one of the most famous symbols in Japan, alongside Mount Fuji, Kinkaku-ji Temple and the Tsukiji Fish Market near the Ginza. If you have plans to attend the 2020 Summer Olympics here, please contact me and we can climb the Tokyo Tower together 3 years from now. And if climbing Mt. Fuji is on your bucket list, then do count me in!
