Although it was only a brief time, I worked from December 2013 to June 2014 in the cancer services department and learned more than I wanted to know about cancer. I want to be a part of the solution in risk reduction and early detection so that people become empowered to take care of themselves through healthy living. I know not all cancer is preventable, but I believe that we can greatly reduce our chances by making more choices that support our long-term health rather than our short-term gratification, staying up to date on cancer prevention research, and doing all we can to reduce our exposure to carcinogens.
Join me in this great cause, whether through a donation, or by running with me on September 6th.
And I ask you, what are you doing to take care of yourself today?
